A Well Stated Note... "It's unwise to pay too much, but it's unwise to pay too little. When you pay too much you lose a little money- that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing you bought it to do. And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better."

Adamson Engineering Consultants (AEC) is all too familiar with the focus on construction cost vs. value. We approach each construction project as if we were the owners who have invested a lot of time, energy and money to see successful results. "Shortcutting" is not in our vocabulary.

The successful completion of any project is A PROCESS and NOT AN EVENT. The AEC process seeks to understand what the client wants so we can respond with well-reasoned recommendations and comments that address quality, budget, timelines and long term serviceability.

AEC believes that clear, concise drawings and coordination between the various other project disciplines requires an added measure of time and commitment and is essential for the successful completion of any construction project.

In our efforts to attain successful results, AEC balances three major design goals:

SAFETY- Required by law to meet the minimum safety standards as outlined by the enforceable Building Code. We will not compromise anyone's safety.

ECONOMY- This is desired by most clients and often stressed (mistakenly), as the main objective of a project. Safety and Serviceability are essential factors in this equation.

SERVICEABILITY- This is the most commonly misunderstood and overlooked consideration in most projects. Construction is only the beginning… Maintenance is inevitable and necessary.

It has been our experience that focusing on one or two of these design goals will adversely affect the client's investment… BALANCE is and must be our focus.
